When I was nineteen years old, my DJ career began. I was asked by a friend to be her date for her senior prom. While there, I was intrigued by the DJs ability to keep the party going. It looked like so much fun. So, I walk over to him and asked if I could start working for him to learn the business. Thus, a new entertainer was born. In college, I took my DJ skills to the world of weddings. I not only worked for the gentlemen that I met at the prom, but also for a company called Elegant Ensembles. I used all my knowledge of all genres of music as a tool to get the crowd dancing and having fun. Since every crowd is different, I learned how to read the audience and get them dancing. By age 23, with some experience and wisdom, I decided to start my own company. Eighteen years later, we are still going strong. As the DJ for school dances, proms, weddings, mitzvahs and other special events. I’ve learned that all events are unique and have developed a personal approach to each event our company provides entertainment for.

Will our DJ act as an Emcee during our event?
Yes, your D Boy Entertainer can act as an emcee during your event. Your DJ will make all announcements and make sure that the night keeps on track according to your time line.
What types of equipment do you use?
D Boy Entertainment uses the latest in intelligent lighting and sound equipment. The music library is digital and we have a wide selection of current and classic hits. In addition, we can provide wireless microphone and a LED TV screens.
Do you provide music and equipment for wedding ceremonies?
Yes, we can provide music for your ceremony. I could be either live musicians or a DJ. We offer a sound system for your wedding ceremony, which allows us to transition quickly from the ceremony to the reception.
How long will our DJ play music?
The amount of time your D Boy Entertainer will play is totally up to you. Typically wedding entertainment lasts about four hours. You can decide in advance how long you want your DJ to perform and the price will reflect the time frame. If you are having fun and want the DJ to play longer you can purchase additional time the day of the event.
Is it customary to tip the DJ?
Gratuities given to your D Boy Entertainer are made at the client’s sole discretion. 10 percent to 20 percent of the total fee is customary for an excellent performance.
How early will out DJ arrive to set up?
Your D Boy Entertainer will arrive typically one hour prior to the scheduled start time of your event unless a larger entertainment package (i.e. lighting, photo booth) is required. Then generally, two hour prior to start time is needed.
Can we pick what music to play?
Yes, you can pick what music to play. You will simply submit a list of six to ten songs in advance that you would like to hear. This is good because it not only gives us great songs to play but also an idea of your musical tastes.
Will our DJ take guest requests?
Absolutely! We’ll work with you prior to your event to determine the specific styles and individual requests that you’d like played. We’ll also encourage your guests to make requests (if you approve) to make sure we play the songs that you and your guests want to dance to.
Do you provide a written contract?
It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing. D Boy Entertainment will provide you with a written contract outlining the terms of our service. We will sign the contract and give you a copy to retain for your records. It is important to have a contract to guarantee your services.
Can you provide wireless microphones for the wedding ceremony, toasts etc?
Sure do!! We can provide a wireless microphone that can be used during the ceremony and/or reception.
How do we pay for your services?
D Boy Entertainment currently accepts personal checks and cash payments. Please make all check payable to D Boy Entertainment.
How far in advance do we need to book your entertainment services?
Wedding bookings are typically made as much as a year ahead of time. I would try to book as early as possible. Although, some last minute bookings may be made as much as a few weeks ahead of time, I would advise to be as organized and prepared as possible to ensure that your date is available (This is true for all vendors you would like to use).
Do you charge sales tax?
No! The price that is agreed upon for the services is the price you pay.
